Training

How

Dogs Learn

Dogs learn through patterns and association. In which we can condition new behaviors and counter condition existing ones.

What is

Training

Training is all about getting in reps after reps to build a new habit. This could be getting in work practice a specific command or a response to a specific situation.

Working

Relationship

How you and your dog communicate is key. This is the foundation everything else is built on.

Structure

and

Routine

Getting into a routine is the first step to an obedient dog. A Work, Free Time, Rest routine allows you to structure your dogs life where most of their needs can be met and organized.

Tranisitions

Going from one environment to the next is the next challenge. Transitions should still require our dogs to be engaged and have impulse control.

“Walks”

This is now where you are working with your dog in different environments and situations. We use walks as an opportunity to train, basically going from one working area to another, allowing them to disengage in between.

Place

Training your dog to go to a specific spot and staying for a specific time. An essential behavior, and something to do in your home.
